Before you start
It is a free-use tool: open it whenever you need it while you practice. It runs in the browser on computers and phones, and remembers your settings on this device.
Tune any instrument with your computer's or phone's microphone. The tuner recognizes all twelve chromatic notes from C2 to C7, shows the frequency, the deviation in cents and a meter that turns green when you are in tune. It would rather show nothing than invent a doubtful reading, and it keeps the reading while the note keeps ringing.
All audio is processed on your device: it is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere. Choose chromatic mode or your instrument —guitar, bass, ukulele, violin, viola or cello— and the tuner tells you which string you are tuning. Calibrate A4 between 430 and 450 Hz and choose sharps or flats.
