Every 3D game renewed, and a new section: Utility Apps

The 3D renewal of the Storm Studios Learning games is complete, with models made in Blender, and five free, handy apps arrive: a metronome, a tuner, a fretboard trainer, Etimológica and Mutation.

In September I told you that the 3D games were starting to get scenery and objects modeled in Blender. Today I can say that renewal is finished: all seven 3D games on the site now have their new models. Along the way we also opened a section that was not in the plans: Utility Apps.

The 3D renewal is complete

  • Cosmic Ear: a full redesign, with a ship, a launch station, planets that sound like instruments, moons and asteroids.
  • Perfect Pitch Multi-timbral, in its 3D game mode: all five levels are renewed. The Meadow with its castle, The Ocean with Atlantis, The Cosmos with its rocket, The Swamp with its crocodile and spiders, and The Clouds with the winged unicorn.
  • Resonance, the 3D game of Perfect Pitch Classical Guitar: it is no longer just a giant guitar. Now you choose the world, and the maze can be inside a French horn, a grand piano, a bassoon, a cathedral of voices or a cello. Each world sounds with its own instrument. For advanced students there is a random timbre mode, where each note arrives on a different instrument, and the logbook keeps your results by timbre.
  • The Comet, in Minor Scale Degrees: the sibling comet that crosses your path, the navigation rings, the beacon and the arrival home, the perihelion, are now pieces of engraved brass, with an observatory on your home planet.
  • Bathysphere, in Chord Recognition: the sea floor is complete with its hydrothermal vents.

Utility Apps: free, handy tools

The apps page has a new section. These apps are not part of the method, but they are useful to any musician while practicing. They are all free, run in your computer's or phone's browser, and are in Spanish and English.

  • Metronome Pro: precise, with per-beat accents, subdivisions, polyrhythms and three visual themes.
  • Chromatic Tuner: with guitar, bass, ukulele, violin, viola and cello modes. It tells you which string you are tuning, and you can calibrate A4. The audio is processed on your device and is never sent anywhere.
  • Fretboard: learn the notes on the guitar neck with real samples. It has a flat view and a guitarist's view, which shows the neck just as you see it sitting down to practice.
  • Etimológica: a game for word lovers, with 200 Spanish words, their origin and their history.
  • Mutation: train your visual memory. Memorize the grid and find the shapes that changed, across 48 levels, with original music I composed for the game.

How we made it

As I told you before, I work with several artificial intelligence tools. Claude coordinates the work and does a good part of it. Codex and Gemini take on other parts: models in Blender, ports of my Android apps to the web, interface design. I bring the pedagogy, the music and the final say on how each thing should look and feel.

What comes next

Now I am going to focus hard on finishing the method. As soon as it is ready, we will continue with the lessons of the Harmony Course.

Thank you for continuing to study.
